profilepicture1Dr. Corry J. Kucik is an established anesthesiologist currently serving as Director of Anesthesia Training with the Navy Trauma Training Center in Los Angeles, California. Specializing in critical care, he is recognized for his proficiency in pain management and anesthesiology particularly for patients who have sustained chest injuries in battle. Dr. Corry J. Kucik has also presented at the University of Southern California Trauma, Emergency Surgery, and Surgical Care Symposium in Pasadena in 2010. In addition to his clinical functions, he performs an exceptional level as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care with the Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles. photo1Located just east of downtown Los Angeles, the Navy Trauma Training Center serves as a Level I trauma center in conjunction with the University of Southern California Medical Center. The concept behind the Navy Trauma Training Center is to provide an intense 30-day clinical experience in trauma management to Navy medical teams that will be deployed in support of Navy and Marine forces. Teams’ makeup varies every month and consists of 12 to 24 members, with each team having 1-3 surgeons, 1-2 emergency medicine physicians, 1-2 anesthesiologists, 2-4 nurses, 2-4 operating room technicians, and as many as 12 corpsmen. Furthermore, there are several Navy physicians and nurses who are permanently assigned to the Medical Center and who have become an integral part of the attending staff in both the DEM and Trauma Surgery. The Navy medical teams are working in the emergency department at Los Angeles County, University of Southern California Medical Center as part of a cooperative program with the Navy Trauma Training Center. ACCPDespite acquiring an impressive part of his extensive expertise through his professional experience, Dr. Corry J. Kucik also built a solid academic foundation. He graduated in 2001 from the Uniformed Services University and continued his training with an internship at Medical Navy Hospital. Furthermore, Dr. Corry J. Kucik completed his Fellowship in Anesthesiology with the Massachusetts General Hospital. Board certified in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology, he is also a distinguished member of the American Society of Anesthesiology and American Critical Care Association and fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
